Our Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre is appealing for treats for dogs in their care.

The centre is currently caring for six dogs like Bruno, but expecting that number to rise to around eight by the end of the week, and is running low on treats.

Items can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre. Donations can also be handed into the centre reception between 1pm and 4pm daily.

Centre manager, Lynda Hourston, said, “We are in need of treats for the dogs in our care.

“Many of the dogs in our care have not had the best start in life and have missed out on learning basic commands so we use treats to help with their positive reinforcement training.

“This helps them become well-mannered canine citizens and helps get them ready for their new homes.

“Chew treats also keep the dogs stimulated and are longer lasting therefore more enriching for the dogs.

“Your support means that we can continue to provide the best possible care for the animals at our centre.

“We’d be so grateful for any donations that people can spare and we know the dogs will be too.”

Dog treats can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list here: https://amzn.to/3T3Nkau  or sent from another online retailer that can deliver. Items can also be handed in daily between 1pm and 4pm to the reception at our Scottish SPCA Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, Millview, Mainholm Road, Ayr, KA6 5HD.
