Freezing. Starving. Trafficked.
Donate today and help give animals like Piper a second chance.
On a cold, miserable night at Cairnryan Ferry Port a member of the public heard crying and whimpering coming from a parked-up lorry. Under the lorry, crammed in cardboard boxes, was 24 cockapoo and cavapoo puppies, shivering, terrified, and clinging on to life.
These poor puppies were being trafficked. With no food or water, suffering from matted fur, severe mites among other health conditions, these puppies needed help urgently.
Piper
Piper had a serious heart murmur which, due to the neglect of her traffickers, had gone completely undetected. Left untreated, such heart defects can lead to heart failure or even premature death – usually before the puppy reaches one year old.
Our expert team identified the problem and immediately rushed her for a life saving heart operation. As one of the few practices in Scotland that offer the procedure, CrumPets were kind enough to carry out this costly surgery free of charge. Thankfully, Piper made a full recovery.
With love and expert care from our rescue centre and rehoming teams, all 24 puppies went on to find their forever homes.
This is just one story. One day.
Support
We urgently need your support.
Sadly these stories are all too common. Our teams are experiencing increased demand, and the costs involved in these rescues have soared. To provide just one puppy with the necessary health checks and vaccinations costs around £1,224.
A gift from you today could help care for the next Piper we rescue.
We’re committed to be here for every animal in need, but we’re stretched to our limit. We don’t receive any government funding, despite our enforcement authority and rely solely on the generosity of the public to support our work.
Donate
Your donation will provide urgent medical care and vaccinations to rescued animals and give them proper nourishment and a safe, warm place to stay. You’ll help give each animal the love, socialisation, and rehabilitation they deserve and support them on their journey to find their forever home.
Please donate today help us rescue, protect and find safe homes for all Scottish animals
