Community Hubs
We have expanded our preventative services and to go further to deliver more support in the communities we serve across Scotland.
As part of this expansion, we have launched our new Pet Aid Community Hubs this year to keep people and their pets together. By investing time in our communities and providing help & advice sooner, we can avoid the need to rescue or admit pets into our centres who are very much loved.

We work with food banks across Scotland to ensure that families in need have access to pet food.

If you would like to support this initiative, please consider donating to our Pet Aid scheme through one of our donation points.
We can only accept:
- Dog and cat food, both wet and dry – In date, can be close to sell by date.
- Dog and cat treats – In date, can be close to sell by date.
- Small animal food, such as rabbit pellets, hamster mix etc.
We cannot accept:
- Duvets or pillows.
- Open bags of food / treats.
- Out of date items.
- Poor quality or broken toys.
- Rawhide treats.
- Bedding – Clean blankets, towels and hand knitted items.
- Toys – Clean toys that are not broken.
- Walking aids – Harnesses, leads, collars etc that are not broken.
- Grooming – Brushes that are not broken.
- Misc items – Such as bowls, poo bags, cat carriers etc.

Pet Aid Veterinary
We have introduced a new service – Pet Aid Vet – to support the communities that are most in need. Pet Aid Vet provides veterinary support through pop up advice hubs, drop in clinics and referrals from our dedicated team of Scottish SPCA Inspectors.
Pet Aid Vet improves the welfare of pets by visiting homes and providing treatment to alleviate medical conditions. These short term interventions will allow pets to stay where they belong, with their families. We also provide advice and support to help pet owners’ access local services so that they can continue to seek the care their pet needs.
