About our National Wildlife Rescue Centre
Built in 2012 to address the increasing number of wildlife cases supported by the Scottish SPCA, our National Wildlife Rescue Centre now cares for approximately 10,000 wild animals annually. From pigeons to peregrines and seals to swans, the Centre, along with our expert wildlife team, is equipped to provide treatment to thousands of Scotland’s wildlife in need at any time.
The types of wildlife at the Centre vary throughout the year, influenced by the changing seasons and Scotland’s unpredictable weather. Our dedicated wildlife team also hand-rears orphaned animals that cannot survive in the wild after being separated from their parents. This includes species such as foxes, otters, badgers, baby deer, and more.
