About the Dunbartonshire & West of Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre
The Dunbartonshire and the West of Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre was built in 1960 as there was a need for good facilities to house rescued animals in the area at that time. In the early 1990s, the Centre underwent a big refurbishment and expansion to increase its capacity and capability to provide first-class care for animals in need in Dunbartonshire and the West.
The Dunbartonshire & West of Scotland ARRC has:
- 79 dog kennels with exercise runs
- Cattery with 28 units
- 7 spaces for rabbits
- 10 units for small animals
- 4 units for ferrets
- 8 vivariums of varying sizes for snakes and reptiles
- An education room to host visitors and workshops.
